Default AMSI (DOS version) and ODBC - 04-28-2004 , 10:55 PM

I'm developing an app for a client that needs to query data from an AMSI
(DOS version) BTrieve database. The DB sits on an XP machine; are there ODBC
drivers for this seemingly old version of AMSI that I can use?

Thanks for any help.

ODBC Access requires a newer database engine that Btrieve for DOS. You can run
AMSI on newer databases, as I have successfully set up clients to do this. If
you upgrade the entire environment to Pervasive.SQL V8, then it will have all of
the ODBC connectors that you need.

Of course, you still need DDF's to make this happen, so you'll want to read
through my white paper at www.goldstarsoftware.com/press.asp on ODBC access for
more infromation about this...

Thanks Bill.

Unfortunately, the client cannot upgrade their AMSI installation and I want
to avoid manual DB conversions as much as possible.

I'll check out your white papers. Thanks.
