Default Accessing Btrieve 6.15 - 04-04-2005 , 06:11 PM

Hello,

I've been tasked to dig up some information on our old Btrieve (v6.15)
server and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a solution.

I only need to connect to the database and be able to get basic
information such as, table and column names.

Anyone know of a tool that can do this?

Thanks,
Danny

If you have the DDF files then you are good to go. The primary DDF
files made up of file.ddf, field.ddf and index.ddf. You can use ODBC
to connect to your data with these files. If you do not then you have
a couple of options. You can try to get them from the developer or you
can build them yourself. BtSearch32 is a tool at www.nssdd.com that
can help you analzye the structure and build the DDF files. Also once
you have built the DDF it will print the structure of your fields.
