Is there a means of periodically synching the data in berkeley-db

I strongly doubt it. Mainly because I fail to see the point of such
an exercise. What could possibly the use of duplicating data in such
a way?

What are the common practices for using berkeley as a front-end to an RDBMS?
Again I guess no such practices exists. It's rather common the other
way round, though. I.d. Berkely DB is used as the *back* end of at
least one rather popular RDBMS: MySQL. Well, used to. They now
finally made their own optional subsitute backend layer.
