We have never seen this core dump before, to my knowledge (and
the stack doesn't make any sense, the retp pointer cannot be
NULL or Berkeley DB would never run at all). The only remotely
simliar core dumps I've seen have been a result of running with
newer versions of gcc.
I would suggest upgrading your Berkeley DB release to the
current released version, 4.4. That release has been built on
AIX 5.3, and I'm fairly sure it runs correctly there. You can
download Berkeley DB releases from:
http://dev.sleepycat.com/downloads/latestreleases.html
If you still see this core dump after upgrading, please contact
support (AT) sleepycat (DOT) com.
