I'm compiling Berkeley DB 4.4 on my 32-bit Pentium 4
with VC 6. Some 64-bit portions couldn't be compiled and the whole
operation hanged in the middle. Could I still use the compiled win32
part
safely? I did see some lib and dll files. But they are real big and
don't
know where to find the start of the code

Hi Jack,

To compile the 64-bit binaries, you would need the latest Microsoft
Platform SDK. It is not necessary to build those targets to use
Berkeley DB on 32-bit Windows.

No problem -- you should be able to compile and use the win32 binaries
for Berkeley DB without problems. If you have a build problem just
building the win32 libraries, please let us know, either here on the
newsgroup or by sending details to support (AT) sleepycat (DOT) com.
