I am using BDB java version, but not BDB JE edition.

What exactly does a catalog database contains?

If I have multiple databases, will it be ok
to have only a single catalog database?

Will it be ok to open those multiple databases across
different java processes in readonly/readwrite modes
and this catalog database in read/write mode?
