Default berkley from multiple os accessing same disks - 10-22-2003 , 10:42 AM

the berkeley docs imply that it cant be done, but i just want
to verify:

has anyone run berkeley in a configuration where multiple
read/write berkeley programs run on multiple copies of an OS
(Solaris specifically) that use the same back end block level
shared storage device (like EMC's HighRoad or similar)?

i'm thinking of something like shared storage and use of a
coupling facility in a sysplex environment on an ibm mainframe.

You can put Berkeley DB databases and log files on shared
storage devices, of course.

You cannot have multiple database environments (whether
on a single machine or multiple machines), writing those
databases at the same time.
