The Semantic Designs (SD) Source Code Search Engine (SCSE) is a graphical
tool for searching
across large sets of software source codes quickly and easily. The SCSE
understands
the syntax of the targeted languages, enabling queries in terms of variable
names, keywords,
literal value ranges, etc. By pre-indexing the source code in question,
queries can be
answered in seconds rather than minutes (as happens with GREP and 10,000
files).
The SCSE has long handled C, C++, C#, Java. Recent additions include COBOL
(IBM dialects)
and JCL.
SD has just added Natural to the set of languages known by the SCSE,
enabling
Adabas customers with large Natural applications. With previous available
language modules
the SCSE can now search across typical Natural source codes sets,
including Natural, COBOL and JCL all at the same time.
