The Semantic Designs (SD) CloneDR(TM) is a tool for finding duplicated
(cut/paste/edit) code across large software codes. It typically finds
10-20% redundant code in such systems. Because maintaining
code in large systems typically costs $1/year/line, finding and removing
duplicated code can mean a significant cost savings for an organization.
Building abstractions to replace clones can make the development team
more effective by providing canned methods for handling common actions,
which is the cause of clones in the first place. Finally, finding
clones that are incorrectly or inconsistently edited can mean discovering
bugs
before they are found in the field.
The CloneDR has long been able to process C++, Java, C# and COBOL.
SD is pleased to announce the ability of CloneDR to process Natural
code. You can learn more about CloneDR at

and even see a typical clone detection report for Natural.
