I suspect I already know the answer to this one, but I wanted to get the scoop from the pros: Do Microsoft Acccess databases pass the ACID test? The test case is where an Access database resides on a shared drive and multiple users can simultaneously modify the database. |

Strictly speaking, the answer is no. While an Access database can be configured to provide functionality that will satisfy the first three requirements, it is notorious for its inability to provide for the "durability" requirement. |
