Default sequence jumps on server reboot - 09-10-2006 , 03:34 PM

We have a tablespace including an Oracle sequence. One of our sites is
required to reboot the server under certain circumstances, and sometimes
when this is done, the current value of this sequence jumps ahead by 10 or
more steps. Any idea what would cause that or how to prevent it?

Too lazy to do for example a google search ?
Anyway, here is a link to an article about the subject by Jonathan Lewis

Jonathan Lewis may have an updated version. Have a look at his site.
