Default Oracle installation on Linux platform - 05-29-2005 , 05:54 PM

I'm trying to install oracle 9i on a Linux platform, but I can't seem
to get around this error:

[marc@lisa Disk1]$ Initializing Java Virtual Machine
from /tmp/OraInstall/jre/bin/jre. Please wait...
/tmp/OraInstall/jre/bin/../lib/i686/green_threads/libzip.so: symbol
errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time
reference (libzip.so)
Unable to initialize threads: cannot find class java/lang/Thread
Could not create Java VM

I've tried setting the environmental variables to various java
directories, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Has anyone been successful in installing the database on Linux?

Thanks in advance.

Marc
