Hi,

Oracle 8i is not certified (view other posts to your question). But
one of our DBA did not check the certification and has installed an
8.1.7.4 Oracle Database on a W2003 Server and it is running for more
than 6 months.

The only trouble you will have is the Oracle Universal Installer which
fails on Pentium 4 Systems. You have to patch it before installing.

Anyway, it is better to user Oracle 9iR2 (eg 9.2) but if you have no
choice I can tell you that it has worked for us for sometimes.

regards,

Olivier
