I have tried to migrate from oracle 7.3 to oracle 10g
by using export dump in oracle 7 and import into oracle 10g.
It works !!

But accordingly to some guides/books stated that to migrate from oracle 7.3 to
oracle 10g , it need to be upgraded to 8.1.6 and above (to 9iR2) first,
from then to 10g.

Any comment about this?

I'm a student and my instructor always says, don't read any of those books.

Only go directly to Oracle (oracle.com). Anyone of us can write those books.
And see, we are all here looking for answers during and after we write.

I'll look into that and be back.

Your definition of "migrate" is different than the books.
Export/Import is not migration.
