Default oracle 10g on redhat Fedora start/stop problem - 04-19-2004 , 06:38 PM

Hi,
I downloaded oracle 10g recently and installed on my Fedora box (512mg
memory and a amd duron 800, slow but usable). The problem is the server
seems very unstable even after I shutdown all other services on the box.

First problem is, once I stop oracle (service init.cssd stop), I can't
start it, needs to reboot the box to restart oracle.

Second problem, now it happens several times, I can see oracle processes
running on the box (ps -ef), but can't connect to localhost:5500/em or
isqlplus. Nothing helps even after a reboot and I have to delete/reinstall
oracle to fix the problem. I have reinstall oracle 5 or 6 times in 3 days
now. Anyone having simlar problems?

Thanks!
gg
