ORA-22132 hexadecimal string does not correspond to a valid REF - 01-16-2004 , 05:26 PM

I'm trying to change some reference in oracle forms.

ref comes from table query so should be valid, but when i try to update old
value i got

ORA-22132 hexadecimal string does not correspond to a valid REF

anyone knows solution?
