I'm trying to learn oracle on my own. I have a copy of oracle 10G release
2 Personal Addition for Windows 32bit; I'm installing it on Windows 2000,
service pack 4. When I run the setup program, it displays a screen asking
me which product to install, the global name of the database, and whether I
would like to install an initial database. When I fill in this information
and hit "Next", the program continues processing and halts with an "Abnormal
Program Termination" message. Viewing the .err file created reveals the
following:
