Default Enterprise manager Question - 03-16-2005 , 03:13 PM

Hi, I just installed 10g and I have found the Web interface for
Enterprise manager.

Is there a desktop version? I am looking for the same functionality as
access where I can quickly edit table rows.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Yes.

You are missing the concept of Enterprise Manager. It is an admin and
management tool first, and only secondly a 'table editing tool'

You are also missing Oracle's intent to leave the desktop world behind.

There are other fine utilities out there, including SQLPlus, that
allow you to access table data. With 10g, you might also want to
investigate HTMLDB for Access-ish interaction through a browser.

BTW - cross-posting to comp.database.oracle is unnecessary as that
newsgroup is not properly functional.
