Define Apps User Menu Structure: Multiple Applications -

Hi,
We are considering implementing the following solution and would
appreciate any feedback comments you have. Does anybody have
experience of
implementing a similar solution?
From the System Administrator responsibility (Path=application/menu)
you can use the 'Define menu' form (FNDMNMNU) to create custom menu
structures.
In a test environment we have been able to create a menu which points
to multiple application root menus (example, GL_SUPERUSER, FA_Main,
AP_NAVIGATE_GUI12).
We have then used this custom menu in a custom responsibility. We did
have some initial difficulties with ensuring the security by book
functions
worked but these were solved by setting the responsibility application
type to (Oracle Assets). We then used profile options to ensure
security across
our multi-org set up.
The user guide recommends that we do not disassociate a form from its
developer-defined menu of subfunctions. The solution I have described
above
involves including the GL and AP menus in a FA responsibility.
Does anybody see any issues with this and can we expand on the above
quote from the user guide? What is the reason for this recommendation
and what
are the possible consequences of this disassociation?
Thanks for any advice given,
