Hi.

I'm new to ORACLE, so my question is very elementary...

Our 9I ORACLE DB run under WINDOWS NT. The problem is, the DB is
brought down nightly for a cold backup. Upon completion of the backup
the DB is brought up.
This proces works every night except for one. We don't know if it's a
contention issue... When people try to access the DB, they get an
ORA-12500 TNS Listener failed to start a dedicated server process
message.

Our DBA said error messages are NOT being generated.
Where should we be looking for such errors?
