The Institute for Health Metrics (IHM) is a collaboration between leading
hospitals and researchers to study patterns of care, care metrics and risk
adjustment algorithms, practice protocols, and ways to improve the
effectiveness, safety and efficiency of health care using health data and
information technologies.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who wants to become part of a team
who's mission is simply to provide information necessary to improve
healthcare. This motivated individual must be flexible working problems of
varying levels, database design, workflow and large ETL challenges.
As a Senior Database Administrator at IHM you should be well versed in
database design practices from normalization through performance tuning and
implementation. You will be responsible for completing the architectural
design for database development through specification, design, development,
QA testing, and product launch. Experience working under a Oracle 9i
production environment, with strong UNIX systems experience. Experience with
Java a plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
a.. BS/MS CS or proven equivalent curriculum
b.. Oracle DBA with minimum 5 years experience
c.. Oracle 9i Experience
d.. Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS in the NT and UNIX environment
e.. Database security and user account management
f.. Ability to perform Database Audits
g.. Implementing backup and recovery processes
h.. Installation and configuration of Oracle database
i.. Prior experience in packaging/installation/upgrade of Oracle
j.. Knowledge of SQL and/or PLSQL
k.. Database/SQL Performance Tuning
l.. Team player with ability to multitask with minimal supervision and
high reliability
m.. Strong drive to learn
n.. "Problem Solving" attitude
DESIRED SKILLS:
a.. Oracle 10G, RAC
b.. Knowledge of the Oracle Applications
c.. BPEL and Oracle Workflow
d.. Understanding of Oracle replication and partitioning
