Hi MS SQL users,

I am just start using MS SQL Server. And somebody told me this is the best
DBMS on the planet. Well that is easy said of course. I am just wondering
the main competitor must be Oracle. Does somebody know what the difference
is between MS SQL Server and Oracle?

In couple of days I have to learn more about locking strategies. Can
somebody tell me what kind of locking strategies there are and in which case
I use them?

Well I hope somebody is willing to give me these anwsers. Thanks for you
effort.

Best regards

Sander

Haha, Oracle sucks. Do a google on "Oracle sucks". Breifly, unless you are a
5 year experienced Oracle DBA, it will hog 90% of your system resources
(memory and cpu), the enterprise manager screen cannot find server for the
1st 3 or 4 tries, and it's slow as mollases at creating tables with its Java
interface. Also hard to uninstall, a basic nightmare.
