Default MS sql server on workgroup not domain. - 11-22-2004 , 05:14 PM

Hi have a small network setup and have MS sql server on workstation.
Can access it locally but cannot access it from other work stations.
I am assuming it is some sort of logon error, being it is not a
domain. Any ideas on getting by this ?

I have been trying to set it up on a local workgroup with all XP home
edition computers, I am running into the same problem.

Jack,
It depends what kind of connectivity to the Server you are looking for.
You do not need to have a domain, just set up a DSN (either, File,
System,) for your needed connection or application. You will find this
in your System administration or in your help files under ODBC

Running NT Workstation, XP, ME, 98, and 95 have no problems connecting
to SQL on Xp or 98 or 95.

No Sure exactly what your trying to do but make sure your ODBC is
set up correctly with SQL
