Default Volunteer Emergency Group - help please - 11-24-2003 , 03:12 AM

Hi,

I am from the Northern Territory Emergency Services, a volunteer group that
assists in man made or natural disarters.( Australia, NT )We give our time
freely for training and callouts for other citizens who are in need of our
skills. This covers lost people in the bush/sea or cyclone ( Hurricane) and
terrorism assistance to people. We are there when help is needed !

We are seeking a simple Access 2000 database that has the structure to Keep
records of volunteers, times available, contact details and courses done.
Also details of courses would be very helpfull.

If you know of any site that has example database with some of these
attributes, please sent link or file to me.

We can then, if a situation arises, access the database and call up
volunteers who have the skills to deal with it.

We are some what computer literate, so we could modify the database to our
needs.

I know that there is no free lunch in this world, but any help would be
appreciated.

Thank you

I am currently working on a schedling application that will have a
matchmaker feature to match clients to employees with the skill to
attend to clients needs in the home care industry. In it clients will
have assignments and employees will have availability for those
assignments, skillsets, and restrictions that would be used to match
them to the assignment/client.

It sounds like this could be used for your purposes almost as-is. THe
problem is that it is not yet nearing completion and will be at least
a few weeks in the making. If you haven't found a solution then you
are welcome to email me at jobrien AT acscience DOT com and let me
know who your organization is so that I can verify the non-profit
nature, in which case I would be happy to help out.

regards,

JOhn
