Using a variable for field in table

Is it possible to use a variable to indicate a field that you want
updated ?

x=12

Variable="[Feild1]"

RS.Edit
RS!Variable= x
RS.Update

Yes. Use RS(Variable)=x. Notice that the field name is not quoted.
