I have written a DB that will read in the meter readings from a series of
machines at work and will then trend those results - just to give a
overview. The problem is that there are some 5000 meter readings for one
machine and it takes forever to display this trend.
Is there a way I can return a subset of say 30 evenly spaced readings over
the life of the machine that will represent the trend without bogging the
system down?
