Hello Wave rider,

Yes it is. I'm currently running Access97 and Access2000 at home and
at work. What I did was to install Access97 first in one folder and the
installed Access2000 into another folder to keep the applications
separate. When installing Access2000 the wizard might ask to overwrite
certain files, which you don't want to do.

I believe there is advice on this particular issue in the Microsoft
Access help files you might want to read.

Also, there is one draw back. What ever version was the last one
run on your computer, that will be the default in the registry. So,
if you last ran Access97 and select an Access2000 mdb file, you'll
get an error when 97 tries to open it. Just close out and start
Access 2000 to open the mdb you want. The same goes the other way
around with 2000. If it is the default and you try to start an
Access97 verion mdb, it will start a wizard asking you if you want to
convert the file or just open it.

Again, close out, start Access 97 and then open the 97 verion mdb file.

No problem.

Regards,

Ray

I believe he was asking about the runtime, which is a different beast. I've
got A97, A2000 and A2002 on two separate machines, and I've got one runtime
A2002 app on one of those machines right now.

There are well known issues regarding the runtime and full versions on the
same computer. Google on this, and do some reading. Many in these newsgroups
advocate (and use) the Sagekey scripts to install a runtime installation
that won't break current apps, however, this is a rather expensive route to
take as you must shell out bucks for the Sagekey scripts AND one of the
install engines (or use the .MSI installer from sagekey). You can attempt to
install the runtime to a separate directory, but many have reported problems
with this (especially when the end user updates their Access or Office
program).
