Hey ,
you wrote:

A client has an Access database in which they have been storing photos in
tables as bitmaps.
It probably seemed a good idea at the time.!!!!
The database is 2 Gig's.
The biggest I have ever seen!!!
I have recommended that they use a link to a jpeg instead, which is
stored on the hard drive.

The problem is how to extract 000's of bitmaps from the tables and save
them on a computer as a bitmap in a batch process.
The best I can come up with is to copy the stored image to the clip
board and then save the contents of the clipboard as a bitmap, creating a
.bmp file.
Then run a program to convert the bitmaps to jpegs on mass. Their are
programs available for this
snip

well, you could use ifranview for the batch conversion it has a built
in tool for that. as far as conversion speeds go the last time i
needed a big conversion was on a direcory with about 100 gifs that I
wanted in jpegs - done in a few seconds (though more than 10... .
about the extraction... well, for a newbie access user like me what
you suggested sounds as good as anything else...

hope I helped,
Oren
