I have check out the boards and have had no luck. First I will describe the problem and then I will describe everything I have tried. Problem. I have a very complex access 97 database with a front end and a back end. I have about 12 users who enter data in various areas of the database. Both the front end and the back end sit on the network where the user will access the front end sitting on the server. It has worked great with no problems. Until People started getting upgraded to XP. I have no control over who or when they get upgraded but just have to support both platforms. So I created a Access 2000 front end and an Access 2002 front end. The 2000 and 2002 are so slow they are unusable. I have queries that run to pull back data for about every form, I use subforms that change to different subforms on the parent form when the user presses that button. This change is now so slow it unusable. I have to solve this as eventually everyone will move to XP. If my accounting people have to use their portion like this it create a big mess. Here is what I have tried with the 2000 and 2002 front ends with no imporovement. 1. Disabled AutoCorrect 2.Sub data sheet property checked. N/A (greyed out) 3. Persistent connection put in place. 4. Compacted and repaired database. 5. Moved backend to the highest available hiererchy folder. 6. Created fresh links to the tables. 7. Made mde front end place on local user machine linked to BE on network. 8. Service pack 2 for Office was installed. 9. Searched for Jet SP6 for XP but never was able to find it. Can tell what jet is running. 10. Created mDE FE in 97, not able to enable in XP. Nothing has worked, I have looked at the performance FAQ and there is nothing else on there. What's the deal with these upgrades...I'm hearing all kind of problems as people are getting XP with their unsatisfaction with Access 2000 and 2002. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
