Problem with older version -

I have been a user of MS Office Professional for Windows 95. When I loaded
it on my new P-4, 3+ Ghz computer (Win XP), all was fine except Access,
which would not open and gave the error message: out of memory.
Apparently, this has been a problem with Access on some computers. The MS
Knowledge Base provided a solution by modifying a registry key.
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\3.0\Eng ines\Jet 2.x,
adding a new key (ISAM) and DWORD (maxbuffersize) with a value of 1024
Decimal (optionally, larger). I did this and everything was fine for about
a year.
A few days ago, I had reason to open a database and the same error occurred.
The key was still intact; I increased the size of maxbuffersize several
times but didn't help.
Since this is also a problem with Access '97, I'm hoping someone out there
has successfully solved this problem.
I use the program to develop my own personal apps only, so I can't justify
getting a new one. Many thanks.
