OK so I'm making a database where the main entities are Models and
Assignments. I've made tables for each and now I am making a form for
"new assignment". In the assignment will be the model's ID number, first
name and surname, all of which come from the Models table. I have worked
out how to make a combo to select a model by any of these 3 criteria, but
how do I link them so if I select an ID number, the names are
automatically prefilled? Or select a combination of surname and
firstname, and it prefills the ID number? I am guessing either I have to
make a Query and insert the results of that, or I have to make an
expression. All help appreciated!

Trudy,
Once you select a model and store the model ID in the assignment table
you can have a subform in the assignment form based on a query that
reads the name and surname fron the models table, based in the model
ID. e-mail me for an example.
