Default Outlook to Access Attach Table - Attn.: Bradley - 09-06-2003 , 11:41 PM

Hi, Bradley

I had to switch computers the other day (the first one died and I can't get to the data). On the new one, I can't seem to set the news client on my new computer to read more than very recent posts.

The thread I no longer seem to be able to read which interested me was how to attach an Access table to Outlook so as to automatically put received emails into a table. I had asked you how to do this since I couldn't find any further information on a method.

If you answered the question and it's in the messages somewhere, I sincerely apologize but I can no longer read the thread. If you didn't and are still interested, I'd love to know how this can be done. While I've used Access for many years, I know very little about VBA and my guess is that that's the way to do it, right?

Will appreciate any help you might be able to give me.

Thanks in advance,

Lucian

I think I did reply.. try searching on Google for it..

I think basically I said to attach an Outlook folder as a table in Access
just go to File/Get External Data/Linked Tables. When the file dialolg box
appears change the file type to Outlook(). You should then be able to select
the Outlook folder.

Wow, Bradley, that's great!

It works!

I appreciate your taking the trouble to answer the question again if you
answered it earlier.

My news reader tells me it's going to get the next 1000 headers from the
past and clicks and beeps and then nothing happens, so I really had no idea.

Many thanks once again. This is going to be a *huge* help.

Best regards,

Lucian
