How would i go about opening an pdf file for view from within Access?

If you mean open it on a form, then you'd have to find and use an ActiveX
control that can handle the pdf format ... believe that Adobe has one.

If you just want to open the pdf in the "native" pdf reader (like Adobe
Acrobat), then just use the Shell command ...
