Default Dates incorrectly formatted - 10-06-2005 , 08:51 AM

I have a form with two seperate date fields - From and To. I feed these
values to a couple of queries. Trouble is one of the dates is being coverted
to an American format instead of Australian, while the other is left alone.

Example:
in the form, the dates are entered as: 1-Sep-2005 and 31-Sep-2005
in the Access QBE grid the criteria values are showing up like this:
Between #09/01/2005# And #30/09/2005#

instead of
Between #1/09/2005# And #30/09/2005#

How do I correct this, please?

Thanks

Don't forget, September ony has 30 days, so 31-Sept-2005 is an invalid date
