Default Database Required - 05-30-2004 , 11:44 AM

I have been recently looking at various off the shelf stock /
inventory programs for use in a small transport and warehousing
Company , but found that just about everything we looked at was far to
intricate , or too expensive or just not quite right for our needs.

I have a very limited knowledge of access 2000 and have been using
various forms and tables to record some of the data that we require to
record on a daily basis , but it is well below the level we require.

We are looking for someone to construct a fairly basic Goods in /
Goods out database that will track goods received into the warehouse (
when , who from , etc ) and Goods delivered out ( del add , customer ,
items delivered etc )

We are a third party warehouse where we receive container loads of
furniture into our warehouse on behalf of retail shops , and then
split these into individual customers and deliver the items to their
homes.

We need a system that will record the goods as they are received into
the warehouse , report on current stock in the warehouse either by
Customer , order number or various other criteria , and to produce
delivery notes for dispatching the goods where the listed items
available for delivery can be "picked" from the physical stock in the
warehouse.
When goods are dispatched the stock at the warehouse should be updated
automatically.

We did try going down the road of having some students from the local
college using this as a project , but they pulled out after a half
hearted two months.

If anyone reading this is within easy travelling distance of Beith in
Ayrshire , or feels that they could construct this 'remotely' using
the telephone and e:mail please get in touch.

Please give an indication of the likely costs involved.

You can reply directly to our E:Mail Address which is

OFFICE (AT) GAELTRANSPORT (DOT) FSBUSINESS.CO.UK.
