Default Clarification to "Filling Data Fields Automatically" - 07-08-2003 , 02:27 AM

Sorry, just read my previous post, and realized I didn't word it very
clearly. I couldn't figure out how to attach this to my previous post.

I am trying to backfill, with a default value, the same field of every
record that currently has no data in that field. I know I can put the value
in the "default value" property setting for that field for records which
will be created in the future, but how to go back and enter this default
field in the thousands of records that already exist, and have a blank value
in that field? The reason for this is that I want to change the property
setting for this field to require a value to be entered, and I need to fill
up the records that have a blank value in that field first. Any help is
appreciated.
