Can you run Access 97 and Access 2002 on the same pc? We have some
databases that are converted and some that are in 97.

Thanks

If you could I would not want to do it. Both are integrated into the
OS to varying degrees and there are many controls that would be
undoubtably overwritten invalidating the 97 installation. I do not
speak from experience, but I suggest you don't try it unless you will
be able to easily recover

Have to agree with John on this one. Even if it was possible, which I
don't know how it would be, the mess it would create would not be
worth it.

You can open 97 databases with 2002 without converting can't you?
Even if you install 2002 on a machine that has 97 db's on it, those 97
db's should still stay 97 until you make the decision to convert them.

Yes. I had all three on my office development machine for a while. If you
follow the instructions on the MS website regarding this matter, you'll have
no trouble. The problem is starting the databases using the proper version
.... there are some 3rd party tools that do this, or you can build shortcuts
that do this ...

You can run both versions. It is very important to remember this when doing
so, you must first have installed the Access 97 version, then install Access
2002, making sure to save the Access 97 installation when prompted during
the Access 2002 install. Pay particularly close attention to the Access
2002 install. I run Access 97, 2000, 2002 all on the same machine.
