Default Access reports: Centering controls - 02-02-2010 , 04:11 PM

I am trying to figure out how to center a control on an Access report.

I have a 3 column report wherein the data flows down column 1, then
repeats for column 2 and then for column 3. I have created a box
around the controls so that the report presentation looks like a
calendar.

I would like to centre a control within a header section - relative to
the page width, and similarly, centre the contents of the detail
section relative to the page width.

This is the way I do that:

Find the centerpoint of your report. If you have a printable area of 8",
that would be 4". Now hold down the shift key and raw a vertical line the
entire height of the report (or form). Now using the arrow keys, nudge the
line to the 4" mark of the rulers. That's a center line for the entire
report, that you will delete once you've placed all your controls.

Now for a simple title in a text box, all that's necessary is to force the
text box to the full left hand edge of the report, and set it's width equal
to the report. Type in the text that you want, and change the formatting to
center the text. If you like, you can then choose Format, Size to Fit.
