Hi all, I've tried for two nights to figure this out and I'm not any closer than I was when I started. I've got a small Access 2000 DB on a WinXP Professional machine that also is running IIS and acting as my web server. I would like to dynamically expose the data page that was created, to the internet for data entry and lookups. I followed the steps outlined in "ACC2000: How to Deploy Data Access Pages over the Internet" from the MS support pages (http://support.microsoft.com/default....microsoft.com :80/support/kb/articles/Q264/0/80.ASP&NoWebContent=1) but this isn't quite working yet. If I use a file path (c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\test\test.mdb) on my local machine to browse to the data access page, the page opens correctly and I can modify the contents of the database. If I replace the file path with (server.com/test/test.mdb) the page still opens, and I can see my title, but none of the data blocks come up in the browser. I'm convinced that the problem is either my name string where I open the database or the permissions on the files (the article discusses Win2000 security and file sharing, WinXP is slightly different), but nothing I've tried works. If anyone can point me to a more complete document or offer any suggestions on things to try, I would appreciate it. thanks. |
